Heart felt describes the way I've approached songwritng ever since I first started writing lyrics in 1977. Crafting thought provoking lyrics then combining them with exciting music to deliver the songs message has always been the goal of every songwriter, myself included.
Band/artist history
I owe a great deal of thanks to one individual who has been instrumental (no pun intended) in helping me with music for more than 30 years. Ronnie K. Winstead at Virtual Adrenaline Productions (http://www.virtualadrenaline.com/) has been a constant friend and collaborator, often times putting his best work into my lyrics, instead of his own material. Without his efforts, much of what I've written would never get heard. He's a virtual one-man band and a real "Phil Keaggy" on the guitar. Together we've learned all about recording and making some decent music, all while having a great time.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
No, I do not perform live. But I have mixed more than a few bands live for many years.
Your musical influences
Larry Norman, Pat Terry, Boston, Mylon LeFevere, Nickelback, Metallica, Wayne Watson, Third Day, Alice in Chains, Weezer, Bob Seager, Jeremy Camp, Todd Agnew, Van Halen, Dire Straights, The Police, Phil Collins, Barry Manilow, Dallas Holm, DA, Steve Taylor, Toby Keith, Paul Overstreet, George Straight, Allen Jackson and way too many others to recall.
What equipment do you use?
SONAR
Anything else?
Make sure to check out one of my favorite spots on the web, the CSN (Christian Songwriters Network) website. It's a fantastic place to hear all sorts of new original music written and performed by talented people who love God. It's also a great place to share and learn all about the craft of songwriting.
