In an old black and white snapshot, a smiling little girl and her father at the beach. Years later, they are gone and only memories remain.

This song was originally recorded on a Tascam 488 8-track cassette machine. I later dumped the tracks into SONAR for some minor editing. The final piano coda was a one-take improvisation I just happened to record.
My thanks to Janet Sha for her harmony vocals.
Clouds in the sky, black clouds churning
You want to wake up, but you're still dreaming
Birds in the sky, three white birds turning turning
You cover your eyes, but someone is screaming
Ah, las rosas de la Florida
The sun is hot upon my skin
There is a smile on the face of my father
The scent of blossoms in the air
A child sits alone beside the water
Starting to run, you try to call her
Wave after wave, waves crashing higher
You hold out your hand, but you cannot touch her
Ah, las brisas de la Florida
The sun is hot upon my skin
There is a smile on the face of my father
The scent of blossoms in the air
Carry me away
Carry me away
