Probably not the Hunger Games
And another one where some movie stole my title before I even thought of it.... (oh wait)
Presented for the Clicker's Club movie challenge April 2019, this has nothing to do with the Hunger Games movie of the same name. It was written for our kids generation as an anthem of hope.
But I reckon it would sound good in a movie too.
It's from the album "The Smivets Lost the Plot" available on Spotify, Deezer, etc.
It's time to take your fledgling dreams
And teach them how to fly
Step out into the bitter winter air
And pray that they survive
What if the plan's not good enough?
What if everything goes wrong?
What if it all just comes to pieces
When something unpredicted comes along?
Well I think you've failed already
If you're so afriad to fail.
If they knock you down you have to
Stand back up and try again
And reach beyond what you can reach
Race across the sky
Catching fire
Catching fire now
Even if it was for just one day
Won't we have had the best day of our lives
Catching fire?
Catching fire now.
If it was all so simple
Why am I still here
Hedging bets on dead regrets
Washed down by cold and bitter tears?
And I blame the broken system
And I blame the crap that's on TV
But the one I hate and blame the most
Is in the mirror staring back at me
So why heed the words of a hipocrite
Isn't it written plain to see?
Don't let life drift by like I did
Or you'll end up just like me
So reach beyond what you can reach
Race across the sky
Catching fire
Catching fire now
Even if it was for just one day
Won't we have had the best day of our lives
Catching fire?
Catching fire now.
